In 1945, Charles and Ray Eames designed a toy elephant made of plywood, which, however, never went into production. A prototype was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1946 and remains in the Eames family archives. After the first limited edition in 2007, Vitra launched the series production of the Eames Elephant in plywood in 2018.

The Eames Elephant in plywood is made of gray-stained ash in a special series of numbered branded models.
