The series of plates Indivia and Lettuce, and Rucola designed by Sottsass – all white with graphic decoration made in black that represent portions of architectural drawings for the first two or small dot-like spots in Rucola – plays in a surreal way with the names of vegetables that do not seem to correspond either in color or in figuration to what we see. Perhaps the allusion is to what will be eaten on the plate? Or the game is in the reference: the vegetable is a side dish!
